General Safety Training - Manual Handling Training - MH1
Aims & Objectives The Course provides an insight into the risks associated with moving & handling and teaches safer lifting & carrying techniques.
Suitability The course is suitable for anyone who, as part of their job, has to move or carry objects of various weights.
Duration 1/2 Day

Requirements
  • If delivering the course at clients location a classroom with power source is required.
  • If delivering the course at clients location a variety of boxes of various weights
Syllabus
  • The Law relating to Manual Handling, roles & responsibilities & relevant Health & Safety information.
  • Spinal anatomy, structure & function.
  • Causes of back pain & other handling related injuries.
  • Risk Assessment.
  • Safer lifting techniques
  • Team handling
  • Question paper
Notes Comprehensive notes will be given to all students who attend the course. 
Certification On satisfactory completion of the course a certificate of competance will be issued that will be valid for three years.
